It's been ages since I've been in Chicago Life of me I don't know why I want to go It's not the center Or any better No matter what I tell her Been sitting home too long I've got to fly Just have to go don't need a reason why Escape among the crowd Silent in the clouds But trying not to think out loud Call it wanderlust if you have to Don't have anything that I have to do There or anywhere Find somewhere And I'll be there with you No more time to waste To win this human’s race Just got to make it through allright I’m not trying to run from you Don’t think I’ve been untrue Just get me to that plane tonight Get me the last flight out It isn't you I swear it isn't you my love I'll take the last flight out Before I lose And finish what I’ve just begun

When I was just a kid and the world was so much bigger The streets were big and noisy, and I'd walk into the woods The brook between the trees which led down to river Would draw us down the way about as far as ever could One time beside the river I saw words that someone left there Scratched into a maple was a phrase that made me think What would make someone walking desperately declare? "As you walk by the river, don't let her take you under..." The clues were hard to find and I still don't understand Was I looking for a monster or trying to solve a monster There's no legend to retell, just a mystery in scratches Hackensack I've got to ask what's hiding in your water So the woods is kinda smaller, but my friends they all still live there But when some others disappeared, no one could say why So, when you're walking in the woods and take that path remember As you walk beside the river, don't let her take you under

When the strange And wond'rous truths Of our time Make their way Upon the stage Before their prime Old age and treachery Shall overcome The shining signs Of love inspired Will be denied The tempest wins What's yours is mine & You're cast aside Old age and treachery Shall overcome When the ocean found its start is When the earth first broke her heart And if my eyes can find your soul Then just one gaze can burn a hole When the birds forget to sing And never bring another spring Your youth is just another toy To leave us all a bit annoyed We'll pluck you by the greenest shoots And salt what's left down to the roots I'll take your trite banality And show you stark finality! When the strange And wond'rous truths Of our time Make their way Upon the stage Before their prime Old age and treachery Shall overcome

You wouldn't know him, Or want him know you And that's ok, He's just fine for now He can see his dreams But he doesn't know where they are He’s sure he’ll find a way And maybe he’ll be a star You never saw him before But now you’ll see him everywhere He'll bring these dreams to life And then he’ll know the stares Life's a race against time Sometimes I'm winning Sometimes it's beating me Maybe I never heard the starting gun ‘Cause there’s the things we are The things we’ll never be And there's the things we wish we were Maybe you've seen her somewhere But I'm guessing no Maybe she'll change the world But you'd never know Her story's in her songs The words flow through her head But she's a figure dressed all black Not knowing she's been blessed And there’s the terror of knowing Her dreams are coming true But the crowds are calling her Just need to follow through Because it’s all just life It’s only just your life

Once, on the edge of the world I know that once I found there That you, my one Could be with me And oh, If only that were the truth Once, on the edge of the things We knew so long ago And forgot when I lost My mind, my soul Cause that was the truth And if I come from this With Less than perfect bliss I know, only I am to blame And if I come from this With less than innocent happiness I know, there’s only me to blame And if I come again To know the bliss I’ve known And if I come again To know the bliss I’ve known I know, nothing else can be sane When all that seems To be is pale and deranged My life and love are the same Because that’s the truth

Left Behind 03:44
What price? The choice of love In this I've come to see One price the loss of freedom And what was yet to be I know it’s never easy The choice is never plain One likes to know the reason But all I know is pain What price? This world I'm in And no one else can see One price This world is empty Strike one two and three I'd like to know the answers I don't know where to start I'd like to learn my lines But no one knows their parts What have I done To be left behind? I cannot run From the traps I've set in my mind While my heart lies open No one sees me broken- Bleeding, feeding ground below me Can there still be hoping? What price? I've paid my share And still there's no receipt One price and still I see The payment still repeats Out here I'm still alone And no one seems to see I keep my wall around me There's no one left to see I'll drive across the country To share your happiness And like stars above the highway Give light although I’m dead Pasted smile on my face Once a lover, now a friend

Possession 05:03
You're a handsome little man You're charming because you have to Make all the other little people Do everything you want them to I'm jealous because you've made this world Revolve right around you And I'm pissed off cause I haven't Called you what you are It's funny but it isn't so This way you get to use control To make us all dance on your strings And you don't respect anything Oh I can see the majesty Of all the glories that you seek But we're the ones you step upon To climb the steps to Avalon I don't want this I don't need this I don't care what you want And I'll take what I need It's a sorry state of affairs When the master needs the slave To make up the disposition Of the basics he must have I'm just a simple bland reflection Of the thing that you once were And the times they are a changin’ In that I think you would concur I'm sorry if I disappoint you If I can't achieve your mission Are you looking for a partner Or just an acquisition I don't give a damn if I disappoint you Keep your freshman therapy It doesn't mean a thing to me You'd better tread carefully Oh I'll keep my options open Cause when it's time to burn that bridge I'll make sure you're right there in the middle Before I burn it down to the ground

Oblivion 04:27
All this noise that keep coming at me All the noise that comes from inside me The constant noise that takes over my brain Anxiety and dread are all I feel Break my mind and maybe break my heart If that's the only way I can be free Trapped inside this hellish little cell That’s all in me, just inside me Eat myself up from the inside Curled into a tiny little ball Take me to sweet oblivion I need a little time away A vacation from myself No more noise and light Take me to sweet Oblivion No will to live, No will to roam I just want to scream and go home, Let me go home, just let me be alone So I can find the darkness once again Let me go away a while Cut away the parts that bleed

Caroline 03:36
I’m proud to say I’m still that pissed off Northern boy you once knew But hey, isn’t that the way we keep playing to our parts to stay true All these thoughts of not much consequence Nevermind, it doesn’t make much sense Caroline I'm still holding on for you Caroline I hope life’s kept you well and brought you all its joys I could never keep you happy like those other boys Up here it’s cold and dark, and maybe so am I I’ll keep looking for you in the stars in the sky

Good Night 05:12
I ask, why begin again When I know, it will only have to end Begin again, even though the past's not past Move along, your shadow's left for last So why should I begin again Why should I begin again Dark night, Orion marks my steps The night sky, dark is still my friend Look north, Aurora lights your face Lights dim, maybe so’s my fate Tonight, tonight I walk alone Just tonight, ‘cause I'm coming home So good night my love So good night my love So good night my love I'll be there soon Turn the page Our book is never closed Even if we tonight we walk alone
